How it Works:
Live Homework Help allows you to use an online classroom to work with a professional tutor on homework related questions. The online classroom environment provides you and your tutor with a "chat" section for talking, and a whiteboard area to visually explain your questions and solutions.
Getting Started:
From Home: Log in to your brarydog.net personal page. You must have a PLCMC (Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County) library card number entered in your personal page profile to access Live Homework Help. Click on the "Available Now" link under the Live Homework Help icon on the upper right of your page.
At a PLCMC Library: Check with library staff at your local Public Library of Charlotte location to find out which computers have Live Homework Help. Regular Internet access rules apply. Click on the Homework Tutor link on the start menu.
- Select your grade level.
- Select the subject you need help in - Math, English, Science or Social Studies
- Tell us if you have used Live Homework Help before.
- Click "Go" and connect to a tutor in the Online Classroom for a 20-minute session! (Be patient! It might take a few minutes to get connected with a tutor)
Rules of the Classroom
- Please bring a question to your Homework Help session and get ready to learn!
- Our tutors will help you with your questions but they won't simply give you the answers.
- Respect your tutor as you would your teacher.
- Do not use inappropriate language or share inappropriate materials in the classroom..
